A very special "Thanks" to Darryl Worley for "Just Got Back From A War."

The Dawgs Project

The Feed the Dawgs Project (aka The Dawgs Project) was launched in the spring 2008 by two old Nam Vet dog handlers and a DaNang parachute packer.  It all started at the PMO/IMEF Military Working Dog Kennels at Camp Pendleton' (now Camp Cann).

The mission of the project is threefold; to provide STEAK barbecues to America's Front Line Defenders, to preserve the heritage that is "K9," and to support the Military Working Dog Community at home and off shore.
If you'd like to participate, contribute, or just stay in touch, contact Jon Hemp at  jonhemp@thedawgsproject.com.
Please check our Dawgs' Calendar for events in your area.

USMC Cpl David Michael Sonka
KIA Afghanistan, 4 May 2013

Picture

It is with great sorrow that we announce the loss of USMC Cpl David Michael Sonka.  David and his MWD Flex were killed on 4 May 2013 in a "Blue on Green" incident in Afghanistan.
David joins the significant ranks of lost "Young Dawgs" whom have participated in the Dawgs Project's Feed the Dawgs program over the past five years at camps, bases, forts, and ports in the southwest.
Our sincerest and most heartfelt condolences are extended to David's wife and family and to his Brother Marines and Dog Handlers worldwide.
Rest in Peace, Dawg . . . we'll see you at the final guardmount.

The Mission

Presenting recognition/appreciation steak barbecues to our front line Dawgs at 22 camps, bases, forts, and ports is no big deal.

Serving your fellow Americans and preserving the freedom of people around the globe is a very BIG DEAL!

A major "shout out" to our US Marines of Camp Donahue, Afghanistan!
